The Young Fellows Association (YFA) represents the interests of young surgeons under the age of 45 and provides a forum for them to shape the future of the South Texas Chapter. The purpose of this committee is to encourage young surgeons to become Chapter leaders, plan educational and social events geared to the young surgeon, and advocate for young surgeons across the state of Texas.
Our activities include organizing the South Texas Chapter Annual Meeting including Resident Surgical Jeopardy and the Resident Surgical Skills Round-Up, coordinate a mentor program, establish a South Texas Speaker’s Bureau, and represent the chapter at the annual ACS Leadership Conference in Washington DC.
